Peter C. Kouretas, MD PhDAcademic appointment: Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, University of Utah

Education: Phillip T. Burch, M.D. completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama in 1994.  He graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1998. 

Residency: From July 1998 to June 2004 he trained in general surgery at University of Louisville.  At the University of Florida in Gainesville, he completed his training in adult cardiothoracic surgery in June 2006.

Fellowship: Burch was the first pediatric cardiac surgery fellow here at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He completed a 2-year fellowship in June of 2008
