Care Manager

The Nurse Care Manager is an advocate for the child and family and collaborates with the health care team to meet the patient needs, including coordinating services, providing education and psychosocial support and identifying available resources. The care manager is also responsible for utilization management and interfacing and negotiating with insurance companies.

Nursing experience

Prior to becoming a care manager, Cathy had over 15 years of experience in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Primary Children’s with emphasis on cardiothoracic surgery and cardiology patients

Care manager experience

Nurse Care Manager from 1991 with emphasis on cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery patients and their families. Fluent in Spanish, which is a great asset for Hispanic families

Other medical work experience

Involved in multiple humanitarian trips to Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, China and Mongolia as circulating nurse in the operating and recovery rooms.

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing, RN – Mesa Community College, Mesa, AZ; National Certification For Certified Care Manager.
