Parent Support Group

The Parent Support Group – Intermountain Healing Hearts – was developed to provide information, education and support for families of children with congenital and other forms of heart disease. We also focus on advocacy for children with heart disease.

Primary Children's also offers a Cardiology Family-to-Family program. Through this program, volunteers are available to the families of children who are hospitalized with heart disease (usually in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units) and will visit with the family and provide educational resources and also someone who can discuss and understand what you are going through. We also provide support by phone, a home visit or e-mail to families of children seen in cardiology clinic with newly diagnosed heart disease. To request a visit from the Family to Family program, just ask your social worker or call Kelly Kelso, Fetal Heart Coordinator and Coordinator of the Family-to-Family program, (801) 662-5435.

Additional Resources

We also have a book on request for parents of children with heart disease called “It’s My Heart” by the Children’s Heart Foundation.
